 St. Lucia Golf Academy
The newly formed St. Lucia Golf Academy (SLGA) is located and operated under St. Lucia Golf & Country Club; Cap Estate, St. Lucia West Indies, which is also the new home of the International PGA. The Academy is managed by Head Golf Professional Glenn Sorensen assisted by Golf Professional Peter T. David; both of whom hold many years of golf experience especially in teaching. The Academy is open to all levels of golfers from amateur through Professional who wish to improve the standard of their game. Special packages for first time learners, juniors and ladies are conducted with the added incentive of interactive video lessons, in order to allow beginners a better understanding of golf and the chance to improve their mental approach to the game. The attractive opening hours of the St. Lucia Golf Academy from eight o'clock in the morning until six in the evening Monday to Friday allows interested persons greater scope for attendance. In addition, eight to four pm classes on Saturdays will be catered for by appointment only. The Academy is closed on Sundays. For foreign visitors wishing to participate in the St. Lucia Golf Academy Golf Program, special accommodations at the Village Inn and Spa will be provided. Transportation to and from the hotel to the golf course and back will be provided free of charge, also transportation from airport and sea port can be provided on request from clients at a set rate.
Five day Golf Program
What it covers :
• Stretching exercise to help develop proper circulation throughout body and brain.
• Development of proper set up – grip, posture, stance and alignment.
• Development of proper swing path and swing speed.
• Development of correct hand and club position at the top of back swing and at follow through.
• Development of pre shot routine
• Development of understanding sensation and sound at correct point while making the golf swing.
• Developing shot game technique – Chipping, Pitching and Putting.
• 9 holes course management training.
• 18 holes playing with other students in golf program.
• Development of drills to enable students to continue their improvement.
